Always Somewhere

Always Somewhere                          kristadetor 07/2013
Don’t let the shadows bend you low
because somebody tells you so
Believe in what you know you know
there’s always somewhere left to go

The truth won’t always set you free
but neither will a lie, so be
a better man than you thought you’d be,
because you know you know
there’s always somewhere left to go

it’s hidden in a miner’s map
and in a ten-cent photograph
so maybe, turn the key and laugh
because you know you know
there’s always somewhere left to go

Instead of asking how and why
set out to find the bluest sky –
beyond the pale, it’s my oh my,
and nowhere that you know
and there’s always somewhere left to go

Believe in love and second sight
remember, they’re not always right -
the ones who say you’ve got to fight
and never walk away

Believe in what not knowing brings
believe in why the caged bird sings
expect a thousand happy things
no matter what they say…  because

hidden in the wake of dream
the darkness floats, but what might seem
the worst of all and everything is
blinding, beautiful
blinding, beautiful
blinding..

It’s not enough to wish her, wish her –
4th of July, and you might miss her
so do it now, go on and kiss her –oh
cause there’s always somewhere left to go
