The Song on the Hill Series Presents nbspTelling Stories through Song, Level 1 - with Krista Detor Dr. Rod C. Taylor
June 8, 9, 10 at The Hundredth HIll Artist Residence and Retreat, in rural Bloomington, Indiana

Writers of all kinds are invited to attend this weekend workshop, conducted by award-winning songwriter, Krista Detor, and literary scholar and Nashville musician, Dr. Rod C. Taylor. In a wooded and beautiful Southern Indiana setting, Detor & Taylor will work with writers of all levels through thoughtful explorations in songwriting, in order to get them started on a first piece, or to inform their current art works and inspirations. Attendees will work on developing original characters and lyrics, explore new subjects and genres, play with rhyme and rhythm schemes, discuss the roles of poetry and literature in songwriting, and uncover what inspires us to tell our stories through song.

LEVEL 1: For all ages and levels—from novice to experienced writer—whether you play an instrument or not.

COST: $275 per attendee.
This includes all meals from the local Bloomingfoods Co-op, specializing in fair-trade and local/organic products, workshops Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, receptions on Friday & Saturday evenings, one-on-one time with Krista & Rod, and special evenings of music.
