Just Because

Just Because                krista detor  1/11/13

Branches are so solemn
in the winter, always call them ‘sticks in gray’
The snow is melting off them
in the mud, we’re back to Autumn for a day

But it was warm, when you said it
You bet it was the finest minute, yes it was

CHORUS:
Just because we both were there
Just because she had a bluebell in her hair
And just because the sun did shine, I
I could keep on, far and beyond the finish line

On the pine board fence, there are only shadows left of painted birds
Only few have seen, there in the ink and apple green, the pretty words

But it was warm, when they painted -
They colored in the finest minute, yes it was

CHORUS:
Just because we both were there
Just because she had a bluebell in her hair
And just because the sun did shine, I
I could keep on, far and beyond the finish line

It wasn’t what was planned
so I tied it to my hand like a kite on a string
And then I let it go, and I might never know -
but against the sun, the shadow always always lingering

I hear the murmur and the stir
I answer in the quiet, ‘rest a while’
If only while the water falls,
I dream of dancing down the halls and smile, smile, smile, I smile, smile, I

I smile, while we danced it -
The music and the finest minute, yes it was
Just because we both were there
Just because she had a bluebell….
And just because the sun did shine,
I, could keep on far and beyond the finish line
I smile, I smile, smile…… far and beyond the finish line.
